About the Nursery

West Buckland Nursery opened in September 2019. We aim to offer children the best care and education possible. We want our children to feel happy and secure, to enjoy spending time at nursery, make friends, and enjoy exciting, engaging and interesting activities that inspire and give them the confidence to achieve their potential.

The Nursery offers exceptional care and education for children between the ages of two and four. Situated in the grounds of West Buckland Primary School, the nursery is easily accessible and provides parents and carers with convenient childcare.  We have excellent resources, including access to an outdoor area, and benefit from the wider facilities of West Buckland Primary School which includes a playing field, garden area, and a range of outdoor play equipment, all backing on to open countryside.   Nursery provision reflects the children’s ages and their stages of development with routines, activities and learning experiences meeting each child’s individual needs.

West Buckland Nursery, along with the Primary School, is part of the Huish Trust which also includes Nursery and Primary Schools at North Curry, Nerrols and North Town.

The Nursery is open Monday to Friday from 09.00am to 3.00pm during term time.

If you are interested in your child starting with us, please contact Mrs Bea Osbon, Nursery Manager on : 07779 459386 or telephone the school office on 01823 663376

Learning and Development

At West Buckland Nursery, activities are specifically tailored to meet the needs of each individual child.  We aim to offer children the best experience possible and want our provision to be exciting, interesting and engaging so that children are curious and inspired and enjoy their time with us.

We believe it is important that our children receive the basic entitlement of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (EYFS) which sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five years.  We provide a rich and varied programme of activities and experiences to meet the needs and interests of all children and encourage children’s natural curiosity in fun, engaging and stimulating ways.
